Gamazine

Gamazine is a form of plaster paint with a textured wall finish and elegant decorative design. It is made from amber sand blended with mineral aggregates and acrylic resins. It is known for being durable, versatile, and low maintenance, and can be used on both interior and exterior surfaces.
Features and benefits

Gamazine can be applied in mainly 2 patterns, straight & doric, giving you a scratch, rough cut finish. It is available in a wide range of colours

Gamazine is applied with a thickness of about 2-3 mm, this helps to cover and hide hairline cracks, uneven plastering, and other wall imperfections and this also makes Gamazine superior to water based paint in terms of durability and longevity.
The robust composition and added thickness results in a long-lasting finish that can endure for 10 to 15 years or more if no dampness is present.

Weather and moisture resistance: Gamazine is suitable for exterior use because it is water resistant, mildew-proof, and breathable.

Low maintenance:
It is resistant to stains and easy to clean.

Eco-friendly
Some formulations are made with natural components, which can result in fewer harmful chemicals and volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

How to apply Gamazine?
While Gamazine is packaged in a ready to use plastic bag proper surface preparation and application are key to a successful, long-lasting finish.

Tools need to apply Gamazine
– Plastering Trowel
– Plastic handboard/mud tray
– Plastic Float trowel

Step 1: Prepare the surface
Ensure the wall or ceiling is clean, dry, and free of dust and oil.
If the surface has an oil-based or sheen paint, you may need to apply an Undercoat or plaster primer first.

Step 2: Apply the product
1. Get gamazine onto handboard
Hold handboard on your weak hand and plastering trowel on your dominant hand

Using a plastering trowel scoop gamazine from the bucket onto your handboard

2. Getting Gamazine onto your trowel
Hold the plastering trowel in a fist position, place the trowel onto the handboard at an angle, allowing the desirable amount of Gamazine to be in front of the trowel.
Tilt the handboard and push the trowel forward in order to scoop the gamazine onto your trowel.

3. Applying gamazine on the wall surface
Place the trowel on the wall surface at a 45° angle, then glide your hand across the wall surface to apply the gamazine

NB: Apply the Gamazine with a trowel in manageable sections, as the product can dry quickly.

Step 3 – Making the patterns
Take a float and hold it in such a way that your thumb is on top
Gentle press the float onto the gamazine and move it in straight lines going downwards to make straight line or move the float in circular motion to make doric pattern

Step 4: Allow to dry
Do not touch the product until it is fully dry, which can take 24 to 72 hours depending on weather conditions.

Gamazine vs. alternatives
Gamazine vs. paint
Gamazine is a textural finish that is much more durable and longer-lasting than standard paint, often lasting 10 to 15 years.
Paint is more affordable and easier to apply, but lacks the durability and texture of Gamazine.
